world breastfeeding week

“World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is a global campaign to raise awareness and galvanise action on themes related to breastfeeding.”

World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA)

What does this mean for me?

Breastfeeding is something that came naturally for me with my first two babies. It happened easily, my babies fed well and we were able to exclusively feed until around 14 months of age. This time around, feeding baby Kelsey has been a little different. For a few reasons, we started with mix feeding straight away, then slowly increased the amount of formula feeds as she was just so hungry. Then, before I was emotionally and mentally ready to stop breastfeeding my last baby, baby K started to reject the boob. She flat out refused to latch.

I was heartbroken.
It’s only been a week, and I’m still struggling.

I was hesitant to do a World Breastfeeding Week session because this is still so raw for me, but you know what, just like all other mums out there, my journey is mine, and it deserves to be celebrated.

Working with new and experienced mums every day has really opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking as well as my view on breastfeeding.

I have seen first hand mums who have fed well, some who try but struggle no matter how much they try, some who choose not to breastfeed for personal reasons, and those who physically can’t.

And you know what. Well done. I say well done to all mummas out there no matter how you feed your baby.

The first few months of having a new baby is freaking hard. It is different for everyone, and every mum and their journey deserves to be celebrated.

So that is exactly what we are doing. Celebrating feeding our babies. Celebrating MOTHERHOOD!

All mums should be celebrated and supported in their journey no matter what that looks like. Your journey is just that, YOURS.

I would love to be able to be part of your journey and document it for you. You may be right at the beginning of your feeding journey, in the middle or coming to the end. Wherever you are in your feeding journey, come along with me and some other local mums to celebrate motherhood.

how does it all work?

This is one big open session to all mummas. You will all be getting your photos taken at around the same time and can participate for the full 1.5 hours if you choose to. We will get a group photo, as well as plenty of individual photos of you and your little one. The session only includes mum and their baby, no partners or older children are included.

How much is it?

The session is $200 per person.
Payment is required upfront and includes the session with me as well as all of the photos on an online gallery.

What do I wear?

This is completely up to you! I suggest layers, something warm for you and your little one. If you would like to use one of my client wardrobe dresses you are more than welcome to, just get in quick!

How many photos do I get?

You will receive anywhere between 15-40 photos, maybe more! You are welcome to stay for the full 1.5 hours and we can keep snapping away.
You will receive all of the photos on an online gallery very very quickly. You will be able to download the photos in low and high resolution.

Do I have to be breastfeeding to take part?

Absolutely not! At the end of the day, fed is best. If you would like to come along and bottle feed your little one, then that’s okay too! You will also be able to get some photos holding, laughing and loving your bub too, not just feeding photos

Where do I meet you?

This is my little secret!
It’s like a magician giving away it’s tricks!
All I can say is the location is about 10 minutes away from Greensborough. You will be notified of the exact location once you have confirmed your place.

Can I see more?

Definitely!
